Amy Mahlen, CFP®, CDFA®
Amy Mahlen, CFP®, CDFA® is an independent wealth manager who has been servicing families in the investment management and financial planning industry since 1998. Most of her experience was acquired while working at Marathon Investment Management, Inc. where she experienced every aspect of the business from receptionist to financial advisor, and assisted in managing over $80 million in client assets. In June 2015, Amy founded A.M. Financial where she works with individuals and couples who are facing challenging financial decisions during the divorce process. With compassion and patience, Amy focuses on her client’s unique priorities to build a financial road map that provides clarity to make informed decisions today regarding the future. This work empowers clients to build a strong foundation for healing and recovery.
As a Colorado native, Amy graduated with an undergraduate degree in Finance from the Metropolitan State University of Denver with a concentration in financial planning in 2005. Shortly thereafter, Amy earned the right to use the CFP® mark of distinction in 2006. After experiencing a divorce first hand herself as a financial professional, she subsequently obtained her Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® certification in order to offer more value in the unique, complex and underserved field of divorce settlement planning.
Amy is an active member in the Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals organization. She participates in two local collaborative law practice groups, South Denver Collaborative Professionals and serves as the treasurer of the Denver Source for Collaborative Divorce. She actively manages a separate wealth management practice with WealthSource Partners where she continues to support clients in need with post-divorce services. Amy is not a licensed attorney and does not provide legal advice.
When away from work Amy stays busy with all the beauty Colorado has to offer; training and participating in mudruns or triathlons, skiing, camping, hiking, and spending time with her most prized treasures, her three children.
